Alumni in the News and On the MoveDaffney Moore (Women In Leadership Class 46) was named President of the National Coalition of 100 Black Women.(NCBW) on October 2, 2008. Her new position was announced on March 23, 2008.
Ms.
Moore has been a member of the NCBW St. Louis Metropolitan Chapter since
2002 and has served and/or led various committees since her
inception. She began with being the chair of the Economic
Development committee and then became the Vice President of
Programs. While showing her tenacity and dedication, she worked her
way up to the presidency of this prestigious organization. Michael Davis (Fellows Program in Public Affairs 1989 - 1990) was recently appointed Deputy Assistant Secretary for Policy of the United States Department of Labor. He will be working with the Employee Benefits Security Administration (EBSA). EBSA's mission is to educate and assist Americans covered by private retirement plans, health plans, and welfare benefit plans by promoting voluntary compliance and facilitating self-regulation and providing assistance to plan participants and beneficiaries. Michael is leaving J.P Morgan, after seventeen years, where he served as Managing Director and head of the Institutional Americas West Region. Upon graduating from the first Coro Fellows Class trained by Gerty O'Leary (Coro's current Director of Training and Programs) in 1990, Michael attended the Harvard Kennedy School of Government. Michael was recently in St. Louis being interviewed by the current Coro Fellows class. During his visit he also met with staff to discuss the impact of Coro Training on his life. Throughout his career Michael credits his Fellows experience in St. Louis and practice of Coro methodology in his many successes.
